I have problems with xfig. Greek letters in the symbol font are not
displayed. The font that xfig calls is contained in files
s050000l.{pbf,atm}. When I display the font using xfd, I see that only
digits and few punctuation characters are displayed. The font files come
from ghostscript. I downloaded several different versions of those files
from the internet. I put them into a new directory. Then I make new
entries for them, copying the entries from the original fonts.dir and
fonts.scale files, and changing the first part of the name (URW) to
something different and unique. Then I use xset +fp that_path, xset fp
rehash, and display the font in xfd. It is sufficient to use xfontsel -
no change, letters are missing. The "new" font under new name is
displayed in the same way the old one is. I always copy both .pbf and
.afm files, and I modify entries in fonts.dir and fonts.scale.
Is there a parameter I miss? Something like "--noGreek" somewhere? I
have 2.4.19-4GB kernel on i686, XFree86 3360 11.0, KDE 3.0.3 (the
problem is present under fvwm2 too), Matrox Millenium G200 AGP, SuSE 8.1
upgraded from 7.1, upgraded from 6.3.
Regards,
Jan
