Hi,
If you're running Debian, edit the /etc/gdm/Init/Default file and put
metacity &
gimp-1.3 &
near the top, after the PATH line.
Use alt-tab to bring the Gimp to the foreground. From the Gimp menu,
File->Acquire->Screenshot. Select a Window after 5 seconds. Click OK.
Minimize the Gimp and wait until the you see your pointer change to a
crossfire. Click, File->Save.
