Dear Sirs,

I have a Gateway 400VTX Laptop with Redhat Linux 9.0

I cannot get the display to show anything greater than 800x600.
I've seen some previous posts complaining about the same problem,
but no answers yet.

The Gnome, "Display Settings" program has the following settings:

Display:

     Resolution: 1024x768
     Colors: Millions of colors

Advanced:

Monitor Type: Generic Laptop Display Panel 1024x768
     Video Card Type: Intel 852
Video Card Memory Size: 16 MB
     Video Card Driver: i810

(The Video Card stuff is auto-probed.)

With these setting, X comes up in 800x600 resolution.

Here are the relevant portions of my config file:

Thanks in advance for the help. I'll post a following with my XFree86
log file.

P.S. (off topic) If anyone knows how to make ACPI work on this laptop,
so that
the fan is not on all the time, please also let me know.
