Rotation of screen

Hi,

My current prolem with X is rotation. I know the xrandr-tool but that
is not what I am looking for. Maybe somebody can help.
My intention is to rotate the screen 90 degrees clockwise or
counterclockwise. The manpage of xrandr says that this is possible
with 'xrandr -o <SOMETHING>'. But that is not possible. It alway returns:

X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 154 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 2 (RRSetScreenConfig)
Serial number of failed request: 12
Current serial number in output stream: 12

Why? I am not sure if I got the XF86Config-manual right, but is it
possible that my problem is a problem of the driver of the graphical
system?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yours,

Stefan
