I have a RedHat 9.0 machine and X was working perfectly for about 2
months. I noticed the things were working very slowly yesterday and
rebooted the system.
I the tried to startx and all it does now if flash like it is going to
start then it goes back to text mode and says "waiting for X server to
shut down". I tried running X -configure but still did not work. I
then changes the default run level in inittab to 3 and rebooted and X
came up but with very bad resolution. I changed inittab back to run
level 5 and I still have the same problem. Any help with this would be
great. Thanks in advance John
