I can get X to work on my laptop using the live cd-rom disto Knoppix.
But I can not get X to work using Peanut. Knoppix uses version 4.4.0
and peanut is uses 4.2.99.
I tried using the program XF86Setup on Peanut, but the graphics are
all messed up. The Icons (screen, mouse, cpu, card, keyboard) are
doubled. The graphics are covered in pixel trash and bars. When the
mouse pointer is moved it leaves behind images.
My guess is that Xfree86 is loading the wrong driver. How can I tell
which driver module is being loaded by X and XF86Setup?
cat /prog/pci yields.
