I am trying to install one of those WAP Mail server applications to my
Gentoo 1.4 installation but do not seem to be having much success. I have
tried various versions of WAP mailers with varying degrees of success - but
none work entirely. I suspect the system, not the application.
One such application, pofwap, I have installed on a RH 9.0 server - works
flawlessly. On Gentoo, mobile users see errors on their phone. Some phones
are crap at debugging messages, but using a free WWW based WAP client for my
computer I have finally managed to see that the error is XML related. It
does not elaborate.
Several WAP packages give similar XML problems.
Anyone know what this might be? As far as I know XML packages are installed
on the server, and PHP should have XML support - but the errors persist.
Is there a file which controls this sort of things? Clearly Gentoo is
missing something here / misconfigured which my Red Hat box seems to do fine
with.
Any help would be appreciated,
Terence
