I installed cygwin on win2000. My use is exclusively
to connect to linux, thus I only installed x11 & xfree86
and some cygwin basics.
When I launch 'startx', the singlewindow (with grey
background) successfully comes up. But inside the
single window, two problems.
(1) all terminals (xterm, nedit, etc) have the same
position and I cannot move around each terminal.
Therefore I cannot use multitasking - very serious
problem.
(2) a popup window from the grey screen, activated by
a mouse button, does not come up.
When 'startx' is executed, a error message '.Xauthority
is not found' appears. Would this be the cause? If so,
what should I write into .Xauthority?
Thanks,
Sab
