Radeon 9600 pro drivers issue. (DRI/ATI Drivers/XFree86 4.3.x/Debian)

Hey guys, i got a problem. Im trying to add 3d accell support to XFree86
4.3.0. it has proven a difficult task.

in the Xfree86 log it says that dri is unable to open. which is wierd
cause i think i have met all the requirements.

so if anybody could just point me in the right way.

1. Should i enable DRI support in kernel or not?!
2. I installed the drivers fomr ati support webpage successfully to my
knowledge.
3. I have agpgart module support.

so. what am i doing wrong?! any enlightment would be greatly appriciated.
