Gentoo - KDE 3.2 - Compaq Presario 1200 (12XL203)

    Hello everybody:

      I am having problems installing Gentoo Linux on a compaq presario
    1200 (12XL203). Linux is running OK (kernel-2.4.24), and after
    emerging (installing) KDE and running kdm from the console it just
    doesn't run.

      If i run startx everything is OK, I get the graphic console, and if
    I run startkde I get the following errors, which I suppose are the
    root of the problem:

      I AM GOING MAD!!! Any ideas?

      Config: Intel Celeron - 32MB memory
              Trident CyberBlade i1
              VIA Chipset

      Trying everything possible I am running dummy0 as a network adapter,
    by the way. Installing the trident framebuffer support and loading
    the module into the kernel does not help either.
