Hi all!
I have a Fujitsu-Siemens laptop with a Radeon 9000. I would like to attach
an external monitor, a Philips LCD one, to the VGA port and use both with
xinerama. I have configured X (I tried with XFree and xorg, currently I have
the latter) and KDE. The two desktops work well, but I have this problem:
the external monitor is "blurred". Every pixel has some kind of "shadow" to
its right, and this makes the monitor quite unreadable.
It is not a font problem (it happens with the mouse cursor as well) and it
is not a hardware problem (because the dual booting windows manages the
screen perfectly).
I think that xvidtune would help me to configure it, however I don't know
how to launch it! There is no option to configure the second screen, and
in fact it always picks the first one. Moreover, I cannot just plug out the
first monitor, since it is a laptop!
I have tried to set both the monitors to 1280x1024 (the external resolution)
and the laptop monitor goes virtual and stays 1024x768, but xvidtune still
sees 1024x768 resolution.
I have tried playing with the DISPLAY variable, but if I export it to 0.1
and launch xvidtune it says it can't open the display!
Suggestions or alternatives?
