If LANG eq "C", Multi_key won't work at all.

I got the same thing when I tried this using left-Alt and the numbers in
the row above the QWERTY. If I use left-Alt and the numeric keypad, it
works properly. Strange... well, I don't use the virtual consoles at
all since I have konsole and xterm, but maybe this will help.
