Yes - and seemingly very simple to implement. I was looking at this a month
or so ago. The technical issue is that it would require reorganizing several
hundred lines of code to provide some reusable (in this sense) functions that
are currently embedded in the selection code. So it's on my to-do list as
a development issue (doesn't address a bug report, and involves a fair amount
of effort before results show up).
