Problem: A TFT is connected via DVI to a i915G graphics card. The user
is running X.org 6.8.1 and has setup a resolution of 1280x1024.
Unfortunately there seeems to be a bug in the monitor firmware and so
if this monitor is connected video BIOS doesn't report this mode
to the X server and the X server falls back to 1024x768.
Using another TFT (which obviously sends correct data on DVI) shows
no problem. But with this special "broken" TFT everything is fine
using 15pin VGA, but using DVI the user can't enable 1280x1024.
Is there a sort of "override setting" that tells the X server "forget
what the monitor is telling you, the user knows better"?
Regards
Rainer
