Speaking of fonts ... there is one detail I forgot to mention in my
original posting because I didn't think it was relevant - but perhaps it
is. I get the following warning when the app is started:
Warning: Cannot convert string
"-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-140-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1" to type
FontStruct
I'm not sure I understand this error message. I originally took it to
mean that certain fonts were missing but don't see how that could cause
some of the behaviour I'm seeing ... the window is mapped expanded (not
the requested size) and the un-expanded GUI panel is clipped on the
right and bottom edges.
