Changing refresh rate

I can't get my refresh rate about 85Hz. My previous distro was Fedora
2, and I've just installed Slackware 10.1. Both ran at a max of 85Hz.
Even in the graphical refresh rate editor it only list upto 100Hz.

I've edited the config file. I set the monitor refresh rates, nvidia
driver, and the resolutions. My hardware is more than capable of 100Hz
at the resolution, and Windows can do it anyway. Any ideas? It's been
driving me mad, and haven't been able to use Linux for months. I'd
like to use Linux as my main OS, but recently I've been having to use
over VNC (85Hz is too flickery for me).
