Hi Bill,
To set a background in xdm, you need to edit the scripts in
/etc/X11/xdm. Or you could install gdm.
Yeah, this is just what I had guessed. Before writing the question to
this NG I had already looked into these config files. Most of them are
binary and those being normal text don't contain anything about the
background image.
Installing gdm is not what I want to do. It is a last option but it's a
bit bigger than xdm. xdm is so tiny, I love it. Only this ugly
background image is annoying me. Does anybody know which file to edit in
detail?
