Not in this case. It just depends on OpenGL HW acceleration working. My
guess is it isnt. There are lots of google resources for this.
It's quite big difference run glxgears in 320x200 and 1600x1200 and specially if you have tv-out on the later enabled too. glxgears is really a poor tool.
