Compiling new driver in xfree86

Hi,
I am a student and I have a project to write a new small driver for a
simulation-graphic card.
The driver should be part of the xfree86 package at:
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/my_new_driver.c

I have written some code there but I have no idea how to compile it as
part of the whole package.
It should be compiled for the MIPS architecture.


I have copied the Imakefile from the dummy driver but I am stack now...

:(


Should it generate a Makefile by itdelf?
How? What is the Imakefile and how do I configure the xfree86 to use my

driver?


Please need help!!!
