using _NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_DESKTOP (etc) in X11 R6 (and above)?


_NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_DESKTOP is one of the properties w.r.t. the NetWM
(extended window manager EWM) hints as per ICCCM
(freedesktop.org/wiki/standards/wm-spec.html)

window properties viz WM_ICON_NAME can be set in X directly....is there
any provision in the recent X distros for setting EWM hints? How do you
set these _NET... hints?
