You need to define which is which in your xorg.conf, using
Option "MonitorLayout" "type"
CRT for your analog settings
TMDS for your digital settings
This will help you to get the right out-put to be used instead of how the graphics card feels which is the primary (this one will be screen0).

Well, this made no difference, I tried about everything
I found on google for dual head setups, no go. I wound
up swapping the panels on my desk.
However, although the dual head is working, it has one
other problem I can not seem to resolve. The Screen[0] or
left panel(Samsung740B) is just fine, but the right panel
Screen[1](Hitachi CML174B), has smaller fonts.
If I run the control center, and set the fonts in the right panel,
all fonts change size on both panels, but the ones on the
right are always much smaller, to the point it is hard to
read when set to a size of 10.
If I run the control center on the left panel, again the fonts change
on both panels, but the right is always smaller. I noticed I now have
a Desktop and Desktop1 folder in $HOME, but copying Desktop to
Desktop1 did not fix the problem. I poked around in $HOME/.kde,
but nothing obvious there that seemed like it would fix the problem.
All icons and graphics are the same size on both panels, it is just
the fonts that are different.
I should point out, the left flat panel has a direct video connection
to the PC, whereas the right flat panel video goes through a KVM
switch. Not sure if this matters but I still believe there is some kind
of query of the display when KDM starts up.
I posted here because I believe this to be a KDE issue, but I
could always be wrong.
Thanks in advance.
