Re: Can't switch resolution

Hi there

Look at your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and make sure that multiple Modes
are defined in your Screen section(s). Like so:

Section "Screen"
Identifier "Screen0"
Device "ATI Graphics Adapter"
Monitor "Monitor0"
DefaultDepth 24
SubSection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1400x1050" "1024x768" "800x600" "640x480"
EndSubSection
EndSection

...shows I have 4 Modes defined at obvious resolutions. If only 1 Mode
is defined in xorg.conf , you're not going to be able to switch
resolutions at all, so if that's the case, fix your conf file. Also
make sure that the line 'Option "DontZoom" ' isn't in your conf file, as
that option disables xvidtune -next and Ctrl-Alt-KP+.

Finally, Debian Sid's upgrade process has problems if an upgrade changed
such an important config file without your knowledge.

It didn't change. And has lots of resolutions.
