Hello everyone,
I will greatly appreciate if you could help me with this problem. I
recently bought a nice new 22" monitor (ViewSonic VX2235wm) to be used
with my HP Pavilion zv5000 laptop. I want to use it instead of the
build-in screen (at least when I'm at home). So I don't even want the
laptop monitor to go into graphical mode. It seems pretty simple.
However, so far I wasn't able to get the new monitor to work on linux
in any shape or form.
My graphic card is nVidia GeForce4 420 Go 32M and I'm using standard
"nv" driver which comes with Fedora 6 (I wasn't able to install nvidia
driver, see bellow).
Since you are using Fedora, you should know that the correct
(nvidia) driver to use is that from the livna repository. It's quite
surprising that some people are still not aware of this.
