I tried Visual Basic, Delphi and MFC (and recently .NET), but I didn't
really start understanding programming for Windows before I discovered Win32
and books like Delphy Unleashed or Petzold's books. Counterparts of Delphi
and alike in Linux world are Qt and alike. But, is there a counterpart of
Win32 approach, an "under the hood" approach that would not be *too*
complicated to understand? I meen, are there messages like in Win32, API
functions etc.
You might find it interesting to look into Motif programming.
