multimonitor live video billboard

I would like to make a small multimonitor live video billboard,
probably 2x2 monitors possibly 2x3.
Search for multihead information I found a little about Xinorama for
creating a large desktop.
That sound like a good start. Then I'll need a fullscreen live video
application.
Any hints, leads or potholes to watch for?
