X windows freezes on keypress

Hi,

Obscure problem and I was wondering if anyone has come across this and
might know what I've done wrong.

I've googled this loads but can't find anything...

Anyway:

Computer with ps2 keyboard & X with KDE. On the 2.4 kernel, everything
is fine. On 2.6 the keyboard stops working - when a key is pressed the
computer will freeze for a couple of seconds and then return to
normal.

The keyboard is working, because if you kill X and drop to the console
the keyboard works fine.

Ideas?

Cheers,

M
