Hi-
I bought a cheap usb -> serial adapter on ebay and it's been giving me
a lot of trouble. It's crashed my system a couple of times (the last
thing in the logs is an error reading from the serial port). It's
corrupted my swap space and took my pcmcia serice out of commission.
I'm using it to hook a gps to for things like kismet and gpsdrive (using
gpsd). I was also trying to use it in windows to put Familar on my IPaq
and got a bunch of errors too. Does anyone know where I can get a good
cable, or should I just expect this? I'm using a Dell 5100 which has
usb 2.0 ports.
Thanks
