I just re-install my Linux 2.4.21 with a fresh kernel 2.4.18 (built in
kernel from RH 7.3) from very beginning and re-partitioning HDD.
All progress were OK. But after I upgrade the kernel, my Linux read the old
grub.conf file (2.4.21) and start using kenel 2.4.18. Although I read the
list of new kernel 2.4.21 was already exist in the directory /boot. There
was no original kernel 2.4.18 anymore.
Why my Linux did use the kernel 2.4.18? Any experience and explanation ?
Your answer is very appreciated. Many thanks for your help.
Thx & Rgds,
