Launching monthly tasks using tomcat

Hi,

I am a French IT student and I work on a project using Jakarta Tomcat.
My goal is to execute a task each month. My first idea is, of course,
to use cron...but I'd like to know if there is a solution using
Tomcat.

I've tried to find that on the Net but no way to find a method to do
that...

Any Idea ?
