Linux just won't load on my system!

Redhat 9 won't install (it says it can't find the CD ROM after booting and
trying to start and install), and Redhat 8 installs, but can't show the GUI.
I also tried two CD based versions (Adios and Knoppix). They can't load the
GUI either.
Here's my system info (I loaded Windows 98). Is there anything I can do?
I just need to surf the net.
