X config Gateway M500 display

I purchased a new Gateway M500 notebook. I'm running RH9 with
the nvidia driver from nvidia.com, for the GeForce 420 Go 32M
board. The notebook has a 1280x854 display. I can't seem to
configure X (XF86Config) to get this to work. I'd appreciate
any help or pointers anyone might be willing to provide. -- Matt
Based on the info contained below (excerpts from XFre86.log after
running X with "-verbose 5 -logverbose 5") I set up a ModeLine for the
monitor as follows:
ModeLine "1280x854" 80.0 1280 1328 1440 1688 854 855 858 866
However, it still doesn't work (adding the nvidia driver did
enable 1024x768 though).
