two questions

I have a couple of howto questions. They both relate to controlling a
computer I am ssh'd into that runs X remotely.

1. How do I bring up the RedHat desktop remotely over ssh from an xterm.
2. How do I make a shortcut on the desktop to run a program remotely without
bringing up the RedHat desktop.
