Newbie question: Is it possible for ls to tell me how many bytes of listed files?

I looked thru ls --help, but just got no idea how to do that. The only
option is -s, but that gives the number of 'blocks' of a file, which
is not what I want.

Does Linux have a command like dir command in DOS/Windows?
