Order of Hardware Configuration

me. :(

Original Post:
I have a couple devices which are 'out of order' when it comes to
the dev character files. Specifically a tuner and a webcam video device
(/dev/video*) that happen to share the same driver. Now I don't know if
this is something which is a driver configuration or a system
configuration but I would like to change the order that these devices are
assigned to dev files. Is this possible? I know I can configure the system
to work the other way but this has turned into a curiousity for me. If it
helps one device is usb (which is the one that oddly -- to me -- gets
assigned the first video 'spot' at /dev/video1.)

Any help appreciated.

One other thing: I have a stock kernel (custom config will be coming soon)
and I'd like to know how to keep insmod from attempting to load 'floppy.o'.
I don't have a floppy drive! :)
