I have a strange problem, I boguht a second hand comp with the cdrom
originally designated as the primary master. The cdrom drive
developed a fault and I replaced it, on replacing it I set the setup
options to default, this made the hard disk as the primary channel
master, and I set the cdrom as the slave. the comp was able to load,
but
mount /mnt/cdrom
mnt /cdrom
umount /cdrom
mount /etc/cdrom
mount /dev/cdrom
umount /mnt/cdrom
all said no such command 'mnt' or 'mount' in /dev or /etc
I did a search for mnt and the only option that came was the floppy.
It's as if the mnt command and the cdrom are no longer there. mnt
/etc/cdrom or mnt /cdrom worked fine until the old cdrom developed a
fault. I am new to linux and don't know what to do.
I am using redhat 9.
