Good day,
does anyone have any experience with running free Linux distribution
(such as Debian (preferred), Slackware etc.) on Itanium 2 server?
Hardware is HP rx4640 (4x Itanium 2 at 1,5GHz, 16GB RAM).
I need basic functionality - NFS client, ssh server, basic X libs (not
any window manager, only libs). The server is going to be
computational machine (Fluent is the software of choice).
I know that there is RHEL and SLES, both priced quite similarly at
approximately 1600 Euros, which is too much for my employer.
Thanks in advance
