hi everybody,
I am running Suse 9.0 on my P4 1.7 GHz 256 MB DDR system. Last week ,
i upgraded my kernel to 2.6.2 and kde to 3.2 from packages on
www.kernel.org and www.suse.de. My computer now works blazingly faster
than it ever run, but I am facing a small problem.
Xmms now gives a segmentation fault whenver i configure it use arts
plugin rather than oss or alsa so as not to block the sound device. It
earlier used to work fine.
I tried upgrading xmms to the latest version 1.2.10 available on
www.xmms.org and installed arts output plugin 0.6.0 from
http://havardk.xmms.org/plugins/arts_output/ but arts plugin still
does not work..
The problem can be in the xmms plugin or arts deamon but my all other
apps which use arts work fine so arts deamon must be ok..
Any workarounds to this problem ???
Also, i would like mplayer to use arts as the default output device
but could not find how to do it in its man page.
Thanks in advance
Manoj Gupta
