As others have mentioned, firewalling is included in linux kernel. All you
would have to do to is to configure it, by the help of iptables command.
man iptables for more info.

iptables is a front end for netfilter, the real thing builtin in Linus
Torvald's (Linux) kernel.

now some distros include some script for running iptables, mandrake and
redhat mentioned by others and I know SuSE does have something too, all GUI
so you wont have to learn iptables and to write your own script.

still if you are not satisfied with the default firewalls on those distros,

has a great script so you can configure it yourself and put it in /et/rc.d
rc.firewall so that it would start automatically at boot process everytime.

Just wanted to plug in my favorite firewall script.
