Hardware specifications of your laptop will be useful.
For a beginner in installation, I would recommend SuSE or Red Hat or
Mandrake. You can download the iso's from:
The packaging and documentation manuals are excellent in the stores.
So, if you are very new and want the documentation, you can buy them
