Hello there

Facing a strange problem

We built linux kernel, downloaded into RAM and the kernel
executes and all messages being displayed on console perfectly.

However, after successful booting, the kernel displays login
prompt

machine-name login:

However, after that the console seems to be dead. The JTAG
window shows that the target is up and running and the LED
[supposed to glow] are glowing fine as well.

Not sure what the problem could be.

The inittab file sounds good.

::sysinit:/etc/rcS
::respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 ttySC1
::respawn:/sbin/getty 115200 console
::restart:/sbin/init
::shutdown:/etc/rcE

Any help ???

Thanks a ton
Vasu
