Debian Woody.
I downloaded the latest version of SWAT, cranked it up and proceeded to
setup shares just like I have done for ages. None of the users that I
made would connect with the machine from neither Windows or Linux. Played
with it for a while, blew it away and re-apt-got it and had the same
problem. Reloaded both SWAT and Samba and still got a permission denied
message every time.
Cranked up an old RH9 box with the CD delivered version of Swat and it
worked.
Then for some reason, I deleted the test Samba user on the Debian machine
and recreated it using the console command. User would then connect. All
users would connect if made from the console.
Got a separate test machine, loaded latest SWAT and Samba and begin
testing. Same problem - Swat user will not connect, console made user
will.
I can produce the problem at will but have problems believing that I am
the only person who either uses Swat or has the problem. Anybody else
tried Swat lately?
