    Hi,

I'm running Fedora Core 1 and I came across a bizzare problem. I need
to add a user who's user name must be in upper case. First I tried to
use GNOME to go to users and groups and add user TESTUSER. I got a
message that a user name contains upper case characters. "Please
don't use uppercase characters in user name". Then I tried to use
useradd command and got the same message. I had no problems creating
the same user on a Red Hat box.
Can you tell me if it's really true that you can't have a user name in
uppercase? Why would there be such a difference between Red Hat and
Fedora? Can I get around it?
    Thanks in advance.
    N.K.
