I am in the process of specifying a new uber-workstation for my linux
hacking endeavours. I typically build up a new system about once every
six years or so, and it is time.
I want to build a cost effective dual cpu system AGP/PCI machine based
upon the ATX motherboards available. I'm thinking 3.0ghz Xeon based
(Opteron may be an option) with 1GB of DDR ram, and SATA raid, in
addition to ATA/133 system disks. Specifically looking at the Tyan
Tiger series boards but am suspicious of their mail order resellers.
Are there any website resources that give RECENT reviews of common or
desirable dual CPU power hacker motherboards for linux?
I'm tired of doing websearches that only return "Igor and Vlad's Russian
Mafia PC Wholesalers" and similar shady mail order shops.
