Hmmm....... got me a bit stumped......
$ jwhois --version
jwhois version 3.2.2, Copyright (C) 1999-2003 Free Software Foundation,
Inc. This program is free software with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY; you may
redistribute it under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
It seems that your using the same ISP service (SBC http://yahoo.sbc.com)
as me (check the headers). Something might not be quite right with your
configuration. Check out the DNS (resolv.conf) and if needed add the IP
address's of your local namesevers to it. For example(mine);
$ cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 67.36.128.26
nameserver 206.141.192.60
