I've been trying to resist replying to this thread (which seems like an
obvious troll) but I have to ask: how was your experience with Windows
system vendors? I've had some pretty bad first-hand experiences and
seen even worse stuff happen to others.

No matter what you're talking about (Linux, Windows, or toasters) you'll
find plenty of bad vendors (who rarely have repeat customers) and a
handful of top-notch vendors (who serve the same customers over and over
again). There's *nothing* Linux-specific about the situation described
in the original post.
