Rich and Noi,
I'm trying to change the polling frequency depending on whether or not
users are logged on to the local IMAP mail server. The idea is to
have frequent polling when users are logged on and poll infrequently
when not. Typically, users are only connected for about 2 hours a
day.
I like the idea of modifying fetchmailrc. I wasn't aware that
fetchmail notices these changes and reloads. I guess a little RTFM
would have gone a long way for me there. <g>
I changed the script and it now uses a combination of updating the
fetchmailrc file and calling fetchmail with no parameters to force a
poll / reload.
This works like a charm and I can now move on to other things. Thank
you very much for your help!
