K3B issue with DVD+R +X16, very SLoooooooow.

    Hello:
      on the samee dual boot system:

    With NEro 6.6, writing DDVD+R at 16X works well, and fast, the total write
    time is about 7 mn for a 4.5 GB DVD, media is RIDATA.
    Verify time is also about 7mn.
    Stable, reliable.

    With K3B, (on both SuSe 9.3, and FC4) the DMA is enabled, but:
      K3B properly detect a X16 DVD media, but write at a very slow speed.
    (about X 1.5), writing the same DVD takes close to 30 mn, a lot slower !

    I have tryied CDRECORD with the same issue.
    The funny thing is that a CD or DVD R/W 4X media will write fatser at about
    4X !

    It is obviously a Linux issue, possibly a kernel issue?
    Any information on this?
