I once had SuSE 8.1 and LinuxFromScratch installed on one HD, both using
the same swap partition. A far as I can tell, there were never any problems.
IMHO, this is the correct behaviour, as the swap area only holds stuff
that is temporary or written back where it properly belongs to during
shutdown.
