I just tested this on a fresh installation of Mepis linux and both
firefox and mozilla (full version) so it's not just my config.
Visit the web site www.washingtonpost.com. Using firefox the font of
the small text looks fine. Using mozilla full version it looks not so
nice (actually looks pretty cr4ppy).
Now I go to the font preferences. Under firefox the font choices are
normal sounding names like "arial" "bookman" and "courier new." Under
mozilla there is a huge selection of complicated names like
"adobe-times-iso8859-1" "adobe-courier-iso8859-1" etc. If I look at
mozilla font options under Windows the choices seem the same as firefox
described above.
What is happening with the default font choices for mozilla under linux?
Should they not be the same as firefox under linux?
