It was 'auto recognized' by SuSE 9.2/KDE 3.3.0 and driver(s?) were installed via YaST - but when I attemt to print, nothing happens and I receive a message like: "An error occurred while fetching the printer list. Connecting to CUPS-server failed. Verify that CUPS-server is correctly installed and running. Error: Connection refused"
I'd remove and reinstall the CUPS package to start with.
The last time I got that error it turned out that I had removed perl, only to find (after considerable hassle) that CUPS depended on it. (One single file, which I thought was a binary, was actually a perl program.)
